THE EMMAUS MOVEMENT

EMMAUS is an international movement founded by Abbé Pierre, it is open to every one without any discrimination of race, gender, political or religious orientations, it is present all over the world with 350 groups on 4 continents.

THE AIM of the movement is to serve and have others serve those who suffer the most so as to eradicate the roots of poverty and misery.

MEANS, whenever it is possible Emmaus tries to achieve financial autonomy in order to support our initiatives of solidarity such as the activities of collecting, sorting and selling of second hand goods.

THE COMMUNITY - A large part of the Emmaus groups are live in communities involving individuals in difficulty.

OTHER EMMAUS GROUPS are organized in work cooperatives or in groups of volunteers, who support solidarity projects in different parts of the world or who collaborate with other communities or existing groups.
